John Hartson has named one player he still believes will have a huge part to play in Celtic’s pursuit of the Scottish Premiership title.
The former Celtic hero believes Kyogo Furuhashi will be important for Brendan Rodgers despite the Japanese striker’s struggles in front of goal.
Kyogo hasn’t hit anywhere near the goalscoring heights of the last two seasons but having said, he’s still found the back of the net in some huge games for Celtic this season.
Goals against Lazio and Feyenoord in the Champions League proved Kyogo has the class to produce at the very highest level.
But just as importantly, the 29-year-old has bagged crucial goals against Rangers in the two wins against the Ibrox side this season and Hartson believes Kyogo’s story is not done yet.
Hartson said [The Go Radio Football Show], “It’s a concern right now because Kyogo was not in particularly great form. He’s been exceptional since he’s come to the club.
“I don’t think he’s finished for the season. I still think he has a huge part to play. Idah came on at the weekend and done the business and it’s his shirt to lose now.
“I think it’s going to be a competition between the two strikers. I believe he will start tomorrow night and then you’ve got the quality of Kyogo.”

There is no doubt that Kyogo still has the quality to make a huge contribution in the final ten games of the season.
Adam Idah has the jersey at the moment but what an option the Japanese striker is to bring off the bench against tiring defences.
With 13 goals so far this season, Kyogo is well off his usual high standards but what you can be sure of is that he still has enough about him to swing this title race.
