John Hartson has expertly reminded Rangers fans of the decision they were lucky to get against Aberdeen after they once again spent the weekend moaning about Celtic.
The Hoops got fortunate in West Lothian with 2 of their 3 goals. The first shouldn’t have been a corner whilst the second saw the ball come off Tom Rogic’s arm in the build-up. Granted, it wasn’t in a manner that goes against IFAB rules.
As you would expect, that led to Rangers fans complaining about Celtic once again getting all of the decisions – something they’ve consistently been doing in 2022.

However, Hartson has expertly reminded them that they got away with one themselves over the weekend in their 1-0 win over Aberdeen.
As quoted by the Scottish Sun, John said: “Rather than talk about Celtic’s brilliant play, we are talking about refereeing decisions. It’s like everybody’s going on about, ‘Celtic, they’ve got the referee again’.
“But I also think that there is a foul in the build-up to Rangers’ goal against Aberdeen. Jim Goodwin said it, there was a foul by Calvin Bassey on Calvin Ramsay, and they go and score.
“It’s tit for tat. Get the decisions right and there is none of this going at each other and arguing.”
Celtic got exactly what they deserved at Livingston; Rangers fans need to get over it
On another day and with another referee, we would’ve had a very different day at Livingston, no doubt about it. The goal may not have come about, and it could’ve been a different 90 minutes altogether.
But you have to love how everyone is forgetting just how much work went into the goals afterward. It’s not as if Nick Walsh handed us two goals on a plate. If the corner and the cross-ball for both goals are defended properly then we aren’t having this discussion.
Also, it must be said that even VAR wouldn’t have disallowed our goals against Livingston. That shows just how much work was needed to be done after the calls in question.

Even so, there has to be an acknowledgment that Celtic more than deserved their win on the day. It wasn’t handed or gift-wrapped to us by anybody. It came courtesy of some fine bits of quality from Ange Postecoglou’s men.
But you have to love how everyone is ignoring the dubiety of Rangers’ goal. Even if you think it wasn’t a foul on Calvin Ramsay, it’s enough of a talking point to require a thorough examination similar to what Celtic have had to go through this week.
It’s all becoming tiresome now, and it’s clear people just can’t take the progress we’ve made.
