John Hartson believes the club has to make a public statement as a show of support to manager Ange Postecoglou.
Postecoglou has had a difficult few months at the start of his Celtic career, having to deal with multiple factors outside of his control while putting a winning team on the park.
He’s drawn criticism for his style, with some nervous supporters even questioning whether he should even be manager at all.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Hartson said: “I do think there should be a statement coming out from Celtic to say ‘we’re in transition, we’ve had to build a whole new team, we’ve made a lot of changes, and we’re behind Ange.’
“Whether or not they’re telling him that internally (I don’t know). But I just feel as if that would stop a lot of the noise about Celtic.
“In January we’re maybe going to strengthen. Give him another window or two more windows. He’ll be feeling pressure and I just feel that would help the cause.”
Realistically the Celtic board aren’t going to do this. The likes of Ian Bankier, Michael Nicholson and Dermot Desmond haven’t proven themselves to be particularly eager to face the media or release statements on footballing matters.
Anyone sensible recognises that Ange is right at the start of his Celtic journey and nowhere near the end. A public show of support is probably unnecessary.
Let the manager get on with the job of rebuilding Celtic. The players believe in him. He has a strong vision. With injury returns we should be in a good place to finally earn consistent results.
