Celtic legend John Hartson took to social media on Thursday to disclose that he can’t wait for the current football shutdown to be over, so he can see the Hoops win a ninth title in a row.

“This is great news”

“This is great news as soon as the…Pandemic has totally cleared…we will then see Liverpool and Celtic rightly take their place as Champions of England and Scotland” Hartson said, on Twitter.

Hartson’s thoughts will no doubt be echoed by Celtic fans everywhere. By the time football can return, it will be a huge celebration all over Britain.

Hartson’s point is an interesting one though. The more people unite to beat the current global pandemic, the sooner football can return to the British Isles.

No football in Scotland until end of April

At the moment, that might seem a ways away, as the Scottish FA confirmed on Thursday that no football will be played until April the 30th.

That is a blow, but it was the expected decision. However, football will inevitably return to Scotland at some stage.

When that happens, hopefully we will see the season completed, and the Hoops go on to make it nine in a row. As Hartson says though, people must work together to try to ensure that football returns sooner rather than later.

It might take a while for that to happen of course, but at the back of many people’s minds must be the prospect of football returning on a regular basis, John Hartson isn’t the only person that’s looking forward to that.
