Celtic, under Ange, have been tremendously successful over the past two seasons. A double in his maiden season and a potential treble in his second has shown the incredible strides the Celtic manager has taken with this team.

But what would take us to the next level? What improvement to the Celtic first team would make us stronger than we are right now? Former Celtic striker, John Hartson believes he has the answer.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Hartson said, “It would be a centre forward. It would be a top-class centre forward.

“They cost the most money because forwards win you games. I like Oh, I like him. What I’ve seen of him so far. I think he’s aggressive. He runs in behind, he’s quick. He’s scored some good goals.

“And I think just going into the Champions League and to continue this success domestically, if there’s one position I would strengthen it’s up top.”

That’s an assertion that is very hard to disagree with. The Champions League campaign this season has shown that when it really mattered, we fell short in front of the opposition’s goal.

And it wasn’t for the want of trying. The number of chances we carved out over the six group-stage games proved we have the quality to get past teams. It was just in the final third that we really fell short.

I have no doubt that Ange will look to address that. And whilst I have every confidence that Kyogo will prove he is more than capable of holding his own in the Champions League, having an able backup will be vital should anything happen to our talisman.
