John Hartson is the latest in a long line of figures to pay tribute to Martin O’Neill after he ended his second spell at Celtic with a win.
Celtic beat Dundee 1-0 as O’Neill helped bring the Hoops level on points with league leaders Hearts.
In his farewell message to supporters, the Northern Irishman said he had the ‘time of his life’ across the past seven weeks.
Wilfried Nancy will now take the reins, but there were plenty of plaudits for the work done by the 73-year-old in the build-up.
What permanent role would you give Martin O’Neill at Celtic?
John Hartson’s message to Martin O’Neill
Hartson was one of those who was heavily involved in O’Neill’s first spell in charge at Parkhead, so knows exactly how the Hoops hero operates.
The striker hailed his former boss for restoring ‘harmony’ to the club with the Bhoys now in a much better position than what they found themselves in following Brendan Rodgers’ resignation.
Posting on X, Hartson said: “My old Gaffer leaves Celtic with his head held high…
“What a difference he’s made in the last 6/7 weeks. A remarkable turnaround and he has brought some harmony back to the club.”

He’s not wrong as well, O’Neill oversaw seven wins from eight games, losing once in the Europa League to Midtjylland.
Famous victories against Rangers and Feyenoord also cemented his place in the pantheon of Celtic greats and will never be forgotten.
Now, though, it is time to get behind Nancy.
