John Higgins has wound up Ally McCoist over Celtic’s title race with Rangers and Hearts.
Celtic-daft Higgins was off the back of a stunning win over Ronnie O’Sullivan in the Snooker World Championship at the Crucible, but conversation quickly reached Scottish football.
He is pushing to win the trophy for the fifth time, having gone 15 years since last winning it in 2011.
Speaking to Ally McCoist and Gabby Agbonlahor on talkSPORT, he basked in Rangers’ slip-up in the title race this weekend.

John Higgins tells Ally McCoist: ‘I’m sick of Celtic winning the league’
Asked if he can win the a fifth World Championship by McCoist, Higgins said: “I would love to Ally, but listen it’s a long tournament.
“I have got Neil Robertson up next and he is an unbelievable champion as well.

“He is a guy that should have won it multiple times, he has only won it the once, and he will be aiming to win it. That’s what is so tough about this game.
“You scale the heights yesterday afternoon, but you walk out again today 0-0 and you have to climb the mountain against Neil Robertson. I am taking nothing for granted.”
He was then asked by Agbonlahor if he would rather win a fifth title or Celtic win the league, replying: “Number five all day Gabby. I am fed up with Celtic winning the league, it’s just one of those things…”
McCoist said: “John, it will be no consolation to you – I would rather you won number five as well!
“I was working at the FA Cup at the weekend, and Scottish football fans up and down the country, we are looking at phones now going ‘oh no it’s 2-0, oh 2-2, ya beauty, and a goal in extra time’.
“Big [Alan] Brazil is phoning me. It has been brilliant.”
Higgins then said: “It has been amazing. I have had Stephen Hendry over here at the Crucible chuckling away at me – I said to him, ‘Who is the Hearts captain?’ You know what he said? Craig Levein.”
McCoist said: “They’re all coming out the close, aren’t they? All these part time Hearts supporters.”
Higgins added: “But seriously, we have a massive game [Celtic vs Hibs]. I don’t think we ever do great at Easter Road.
“It’s one of those situations: if we can win and put a bit of pressure on —and when have we ever wanted Rangers to win a game? – but you do against Hearts.
“But if Hearts beat Rangers it’s going to be tough to stop them.”

Celtic’s remaining fixtures vs Hearts’
Celtic and Hearts are both still to play Rangers, and both still to face each other. There are still plenty more twists and turns to come.
Next week, the headline fixture will be at Tynecastle, where the Ibrox side are the visitors. A win for Derek McInnes’ side would turn a three-horse race into a two-horse one.
Celtic are also in Edinburgh, playing Hibs at Easter Road the day before.
After that, it’s the small matter of a Glasgow Derby at Celtic Park, though we still don’t know the situation regarding away allocations for that game.
