John Kennedy will leave Celtic with immediate effect as the Hoops assistant ends a 27-year career at Parkhead.
Kennedy took up a scouting role at Celtic in 2010 after sustaining a career-ending injury whilst on Scotland duty in 2004.
Since then, the former Celtic defender became the U19 team manager winning the league and cup double in his first two seasons and a third title in a row 2014
Promoted to first-team coach in 2014 under Ronny Deila, Kennedy has moved up through the backroom ranks until he reached the assistant manager role when Neil Lennon replaced Rodgers in his first spell at Celtic.
And now that Rodgers has left the Bhoys, Kennedy follows him with two first-team coaches staying to help support Shaun Maloney and Martin O’Neill.

Stevie Woods & Gavin Strachan remain at Celtic as Rodgers and Kennedy leave
The Scottish Sun reports that Kennedy leaves Celtic with immediate effect with Gavin Strachan and Stevie Woods expected to stay and support O’Neill and Maloney.
With so much turmoil behind the scenes at Celtic, Maloney and O’Neill will welcome some stability as they look to prepare the Bhoys for the league tie against Falkirk on Wednesday night.
Celtic now begin the process of finding a permanent manager and it looks like there could be many names in the frame as the Parkhead club still remains one of the biggest jobs in Europe.
