Celtic interim boss John Kennedy has shared a message with supporters.
In a tweet shared by the Celtic FC account, Kennedy was asked for his guidance on matters surrounding the Glasgow Derby. Fans have been urged not to congregate around the stadium, or in general, due to Tier 4 lockdown restrictions.
The match is already under enormous governmental scrutiny. Jason Leitch spoke to the BBC (BBC Radio Scotland, 12/03, 44.44) earlier today about a cabinet meeting surrounding the Glasgow Derby.
He urged a message to fans: stay home. Along the same lines, Celtic have made a plea to supporters ahead of next Sunday’s fixture.
Kennedy said:
“It’s about staying at home. Being safe and sticking to the rules.
“It’s difficult for everyone. It’s a difficult period for society as a whole, but especially surrounding the game and the attention it brings. [We] want to make sure that everybody does the right thing, and stays at home and keeps everybody safe.
“It’s been a massive loss not having [fans] this season. But that’s something we’ve just had to face up to.”
