John Kennedy has told reporters he’s been given no indication on how long he’ll be Celtic manager for, in a press conference today.
The interim boss fielded questions from outside of the club for the first time since Wednesday’s announcement that Neil Lennon had resigned.
He answered a variety of questions on the last few days and what might happen at Celtic between now and the end of the season.
However, one thing that’s not clear is how long Celtic are planning on keeping him in the dugout before appointing a permanent choice.
Kennedy has claimed he has no idea either, explaining [Celtic YouTube]: “There’s no timescale on it at all. I’ve been asked to come in and do the job for the time being. We’ll just have to monitor that and see how that goes, as we go.”
Asked if he expects to be in charge until the end of the season, Kennedy replied: “Again, I don’t know. There’s been no clarity on that side of it in terms of setting any timeframes. I just go out, approach each day and prepare the team for the upcoming game, until told otherwise.”
No timescale but John Kennedy unlikely to be permanent Celtic choice
Everyone is assuming that the former defender will be in charge until the end of the season. However, it must be stressed Celtic never actually said that in the statement released through the week.
There has actually been no official word either way on exactly when a new manager will be announced.

However, unless we are bringing in someone unemployed, it feels likely that we’ll be left waiting on the new man in charge.
Teams are coming to the end of their seasons and any promising coaches are likely making a final push for silverware or European qualification positions.
Regardless, I don’t think anyone should worry about Kennedy getting the full-time gig.
In other news, Tam McManus has alluded to a rift between Nick Hammond and Neil Lennon.
