Interim boss John Kennedy says reports linking him to the sporting director role at Celtic have been ‘made up’.
The Scottish Sun reported this week that Kennedy was in line for the job at the Bhoys, alongside Manchester City employee Fergal Harkin.
However, when asked about it today in his pre-derby press conference, Kennedy couldn’t be clearer.
The interim boss said [YouTube]: “Yeah, it’s been made up. Someone’s obviously had a guess at it.
“I think because there was so much speculation around the manager, behind the scenes, how it might look, I think people try to start piecing together things themselves and putting it out there.
“I’ve not had any discussions around that role at the club, with anyone here. It’s not something I can comment on because it’s not been discussed.
“It’s not one I’ve considered or spoken about.”
Kennedy goes on to say he’ll make a decision about his future when the season ends and he can review all the options available to him.
Some fans had been left concerned by the reports linking Kennedy with the role. There are many who think he doesn’t have the proper experience for the position, or that Celtic need a true fresh start from this season of failure.

If Celtic are lining up Kennedy for the job, then clearly no-one at the club has told the long-serving coach.
It will be very interesting to see who does take up the post alongside a new manager. Celtic surely must be closing on making those announcements?
In other news, Leigh Griffiths won’t be leaving Celtic on a free transfer this summer.
