When it comes to the current Celtic side, the player that has been at the club longer than any other player is Hoops captain Scott Brown.
He has seen and done it all for Celtic since joining the Hoops in 2007. He has won a host of titles, and been a key man in Celtic’s recent ‘treble treble’ success.
One player who has no doubt about the influence that Brown has on the current Celtic side is Jonny Hayes. The Hoops utility man has disclosed that every player in the first-team squad looks to Brown for inspiration.
“I’ve never saw him unenthusiastic” Hayes said, as reported by the Celtic View (Volume 55, Issue 20, Pag3. 14).
“He takes it on the chin”

“If ever we get a bad result, he takes it on the chin as the captain, but he’s never ever come into training without a smile on his face. He is like the young kid in the changing room, but because of that everyone is influenced by him.”
The way that Brown deals with poor results can only be a good thing. Celtic don’t have that many when the Hoops captain plays. However, judging by Hayes’ comments, he doesn’t let it affect his game, or his training. That must be great for his team-mates.
Seems to be getting better as the years go on

Brown seems to be getting better as the years go on. He will be vital to the Hoops in the run of 11 games the Hoops have up until the winter break in January. His enthusiasm has helped to lead the Hoops to major success in recent seasons. He will need to do it again for Celtic to ensure that the Hoops go into the winter break top of the league, and as Betfred Cup winners.
That could be a difficult task even for this current Celtic side which has won it all domestically over the last three seasons. If there is one player that can help inspire the Hoops to even more success though, it is Brown.
