Jota is the latest player to take part in Celtic’s social media question and answer series, addressing a number of topics put forward by supporters on Twitter.

The Portuguese winger is currently one of the most popular members of the Celtic squad with supporters, especially after committing his long-term future to the club.

Jota had plenty of support during last season’s loan spell too, with fans even coming up with his own song mid-season.

Asked if he was looking forward to hearing it again, he said: “Yes definitely! That was something that I was really happy and grateful that the fans did for me.

“It was an incentive to keep on playing and delivering and just to stay humble and keep on working hard.”

The attacker was also asked who the toughest player go up against in training and, like other teammates before him, the answer was Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Meanwhile, he named a surprising candidate for funniest in the dressing room, stating: “The funniest guy is James McCarthy. I think everyone helped me to settle. They made me part of the team and were always there to help me.”

The summer Celtic signing also paid tribute to captain Callum McGregor when asked to compare the Scotland international to other captains he’s had.

He said: “I’m fortunate to have played with a lot of good captains & everyone was good to me because and have helped me a lot.

“I try to take the best of each one – Callum has been terrific with me, he is a great leader & passed on the values of the club.”

Jota and the rest of the Celtic squad are somewhat isolated from the pressure of Glasgow right, taking part in a pre-season training camp over in Austria.

However, it won’t be long before they feel the love and support of fans once again with friendlies at Celtic Park starting in just over a week’s time.

The experience of matchdays with the Celtic supporters certainly seems to have influenced the Portuguese’s decision to make a permanent switch to Glasgow, so I hope he relishes every minute together in the new season.
