Plenty of Celtic supporters are keen for the club to bite the bullet and sign up Jota on a permanent basis as soon as possible.

But we all know it won’t be as easy as that.

As reported by Sky Sports, Celtic will have to pay a fee of just over £6m to activate the buy clause of his loan, allowing him to sign a long-term contract at the Bhoys.

That’s a significant sum for this club and it’s not something that’s going to be parted with easily when the squad needs strengthening in other areas.

The right approach here is a wait-and-see one. There’s no immediate rush to snap Jota up based on a handful of appearances.

What needs to happen now is a consistent run of form that produces results for Celtic on a regular basis. That’s what we need from a £6m player.

However, it’s just a little too early to lay down millions of pounds when anything can happen between now and the end of the season.

Still, the clamouring for his signature continues and it’s a strong feeling for some, with this lot taking to social media to share their thoughts on it all over the last 24 hours…
