TalkSPORT journalist Alex Crook has now shared what he’s heard about the possibility of Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou taking the Leeds United job.

It’s no surprise that Postecoglou is reportedly on Leeds’ mind to replace Jesse Marsch after the brilliant job he’s done at Celtic Park.

The Daily Mail reported this morning that the 57-year-old has emerged as one of the frontrunners to take the hot seat at Elland Road. Although it has to be noted his name comes up with almost every vacant job in England.

Postecoglou guided the Bhoys to a Scottish Premiership and League Cup during his first full season in charge last time out.

The Australian boss is also eyeing a domestic treble with the Hoops this time out and despite a difficult Champions League campaign, his stock is seemingly high in the Premier League.

But it seems that it would be difficult for any club to tempt Postecoglou away from Celtic Park, despite being linked with Leeds.

Crook on Postecoglou to Leeds

TalkSPORT’s Crook has shared an update on Leeds’ pursuit for a new manager today. The journalist responded to Ally McCoist when asked if Leeds are considering a move for Postecoglou.

McCoist said: “Would big Ange Postecoglou come into it? He’s doing very well at Celtic and must be attracting interest at Leeds, I would have thought?”

“He’s certainly attracting interest from clubs around Leeds at the bottom of the table. The vibe I’m getting is he doesn’t want to leave Celtic,” Crook replied.

“Would it be a step up? He’s done a great job over there, Champions League football next season would be a big draw. I think he’d be a difficult one to get out of Celtic. He might cost a bit to get him out of Celtic too.”

It will be music to the ears of Celtic fans that Postecoglou is seemingly willing to turn down Leeds to remain at the club.

He’s forged a brilliant relationship with the fans over the past 18 months and with plenty left to play for this season, it makes sense that he’s happy at Celtic Park.

Leeds are in a dangerous position in the league at the moment and while Postecoglou may be tempted by the idea of managing in England in the future, it would make little sense for him to swap Celtic for Elland Road right now.
