Jurgen Klinsmann has been speaking about his relationship with Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers.
As current boss of South Korea, the former VfB Stuttgart and Tottenham Hotspur striker has a keen interest in Celtic matters.
We currently have three Koreans on our books — with the summer signings of Hyunjun Yang and Hyeokkyu Kwon adding to the January acquisition of Hyeongyu Oh.
Only Oh is in the squad for his country’s upcoming clashes against Wales and Saudi Arabia, both in the UK. However, Klinsmann has high hopes for all of the Celtic talents as he also shared what Rodgers is saying about them.
“I have spoken with Brendan,” he told the Scottish Sun. “I talked three weeks ago about Oh. But he told me about all three and he likes them very much. He is happy with how they are progressing.
“He also said to me that he had a big roster of players at Celtic. I replied, ‘Brendan, I totally understand’.

“But I said I was just happy that he was satisfied with the three boys, that they were training well and listening to him. The Korean mentality is that they are very good listeners. They are very disciplined.
“I told Brendan he will never have an issue with them about character and about discipline. Ange was fantastic with Oh. He and Brendan are great characters and they care about their players. They are both good people-managers.”
Klinsmann was at Ibrox for our derby win on Sunday and would have seen both Oh and Yang coming on to cause the home side problems.
The pair seem to have settled in well to life in Scotland. Obviously Oh is a bit further down the line, but both should be able to offer us something this season.

Kwon, meanwhile, already looks like he may have a battle on his hands for game-time. Similar to the signings of Yosuke Ideguchi and Oliver Abildgaard in recent years, he’s got off to a slow start in midfield.
When you’re fighting with Callum McGregor for opportunities, you really need to be hitting the ground running to earn the chance of more game time.
With Reo Hatate soon to return and Paulo Bernardo now in the door, the midfield will look stronger in numbers after the break. Kwon may not be seen too often between now and January.
In other news, Sead Haksabanovic won’t be featuring for Montenegro during the upcoming international break
