Karamoko Dembele has been training with the Celtic first-team ahead of the squad’s trip to Romania to face Cluj, with the club choosing to feature him in their set of photos on social media.

Lining up alongside experienced stars such as Christopher Jullien and Scott Brown, the youngster continues to learn his trade amongst Neil Lennon’s senior players at Barrowfield.

What it means for his potential selection on Thursday is unknown, but it is an interesting appearance to consider ahead of our Cluj test.

As we know, the match means little to us in terms of result and Lennon has a huge opportunity to give some fringe players and eligible youngsters a chance to shine on a bigger stage than reserve football.

Can he play?

There are no red tape reasons that would prevent Dembele’s inclusion, with the 16-year-old included as part of Celtic’s European squad for the group stages, on the B list, as per UEFA.com.

It would simply be a judgement call for Lennon.

His selection would still be something of a surprise despite his availability. With others like Mikey Johnston needing game time, there might not be much room for the youngster.

He’s also not played a game this season, last featuring against Hearts at Celtic Park last term, before being included on Lennon’s bench for the Scottish Cup final.

Will he make just his second Hoops appearance soon? It’d be great to see how he’s progressing.
