Celtic showcased their muscle and might to the world when it mattered most; that’s why the domestic double has been secured.

For the majority of the season, it looked and felt like the Premiership title was heading to Hearts, never mind Celtic lifting two trophies.

But Daizen Maeda’s crazy form destroyed everyone in sight, including sending the Hearts players back to Tynecastle in tears.

Following the conclusion of Celtic’s Scottish Cup final win over Dunfermline Athletic on Saturday afternoon, Kelechi Iheanacho hit the nail on the head on social media by labelling Maeda ‘the King of Glasgow.’

Should Celtic grant Daizen Maeda his Premier League wish?

Comment below, Celtic fans…👇

Daizen Maeda’s final bow as a Celtic player?

The next time Celtic fans will see Maeda in action is at this summer’s World Cup for Japan.

But by the time pre-season begins, the all-action forward might just be wearing the colours of a different club.

In what could be one of his final messages to the Celtic Park faithful, Maeda took to Instagram and simply posted: ‘The double 💚🤍🏆🏆’

In the comments section of Maeda’s IG post, he was rightfully lauded and applauded by his teammates:

Maeda’s season stats

Last season, Maeda netted 33 goals in all competitions, but he couldn’t match or better that number because of how poor he was during the first half of the campaign.

There was a certain spark missing from the Japan star’s game. He only had seven Premiership goals before the post-split fixtures.

But then everything changed once he netted for Celtic against St Mirren in the Scottish Cup semi-final.

Either way, Maeda’s numbers, for a player who clearly wasn’t at it for several months, were pretty strong and healthy.
