A revelation by John Kennedy is going to make Celtic fans even more angry about Brendan Rodgers’ departure from the club.

Kennedy has disclosed that Rodgers didn’t inform the players that he was leaving to join Leicester City, leaving up to the Hoops first-team coach to tell them.

“The first I spoke with him about this was Monday morning. He said he was probably going to speak with Leicester and to get ready to take the team” he told The Herald.

Kennedy then revealed what he told the players about the situation involving their former manager.

‘I was honest with them’

“I was honest with them and told them the situation and what was possibly going to happen in the next 24 hours.”

Rodgers really should have told the players, who have worshipped him for the last two seasons, that he was leaving the club.

Not painted in the best light

It doesn’t really paint him in the best light, and seems to show that he was desperate to leave Celtic at the earliest opportunity possible.

That isn’t really the behaviour of a man who loves the club, as Rodgers constantly claimed to do during his spell as Hoops boss.

As for Kennedy, he deserves plenty of credit for the way he has handled the events of the last week. The fact that he stayed at the club instead of moving to Leicester could be a clue to his long-term future with the club.
