Kenny Miller admits it ‘hurts’ to give his ‘genuine opinion’ as he compares Celtic and Rangers

Celtic, as a club, have never been in a better place both on and off the park this year after the transfer business that has been conducted and the recent financial results.

67 Hail Hail discussed last night how Celtic reported a turnover of £124.6m and how they have spent in excess of £31m in transfers this season to continue the dominance of Scottish football and to make an assault on the Champions League.

That campaign starts tomorrow night against Slovan Bratislava where the Celtic fans will be hoping that the team can take their sparkling domestic form into Europe and get off to a winning start.

So overall, everything in the Celtic garden is looking rosy which is why Kenny Miller is gutted as he compares Rangers to the current Scottish champions.

Kenny Miller ‘hurt’ by Celtic’s strength

Miller is currently in Saudi Arabia working for former Celtic manager, Ronny Deila, as a coach for Al-Wahda but still keeps an eye on his old club.

And listening to what he says here, I’m guessing he probably wishes he doesn’t now.

Speaking to the Monday Club Podcast, Miller said, “I don’t think the team or the club are in a great way. It’s not been a great start to the season.

“It was the worst time to get that O-d F-rm game. If you lose that then you’ve got two weeks of chat that people need to fill and they are all going to be talking about that last result. Unfortunately for Rangers at the moment, Celtic are moving away. That’s my genuine opinion and it hurts me to say it.

“When you look at the last couple of days of the transfer window, Celtic just flexed their muscles. They spent £11m then another £6m on the lad Auston Trusty as well.

“And then they are on the bench for the game they are already winning 3-0 in, and by the way, it could have been more.”

Celtic’s dominance over Rangers

If truth be told, Celtic have been dominant over Rangers for the last 24 years. Ever since Martin O’Neill was appointed in 2000, looking at their trophy history, the club has just gone from strength to strength.

However, most recently, Brendan Rodgers has enjoyed an unbeaten run over his rivals since he returned last summer and the most recent Glasgow Derby reaffirmed just how far Celtic are ahead of Rangers on the park.

Off the park, the Parkhead club are in a different stratosphere as they continue to post strong financial results.

If this continues, Celtic’s dominance over Rangers looks set to continue for the foreseeable future and that is something that Miller himself won’t be able to stand.
