Kevin Gallacher predicts Brendan Rodgers’ Sunday Celtic team talk that will worry Ross County

Celtic haven’t had to show much of their resilient spirit so far this season but that changes in Sunday’s lunchtime Scottish Premiership kick-off vs Ross County.

Brendan Rodgers’ Bhoys have powered to victory after victory so far this season and have barely been tested domestically.

However, after a heavy defeat away to Borussia Dortmund, Celtic must summon the strength they demonstrated on multiple occasions last term to bounce back to winning ways.

Rodgers has projected confidence in his Celtic methods and belief in his squad throughout the week. He’s steered the group through a difficult aftermath to the 7-1 loss.

Pundit Kevin Gallacher has now predicted what the manager’s team talk in Dingwall will be. He says it could leave Ross County on the receiving end of a hammering.

Brendan Rodgers has an ‘easy’ message for Celtic vs Ross County

Gallacher said [Sunday Post, 06/10 print edition]: “Celtic have given Brendan Rodgers an easy team talk to make against Ross County. He can take the players to Dingwall then tell them: I could easily drop eleven of you today.

“Why? Because the display in the 7-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday was not of a standard you need to be at to win the Scottish Premiership. You might believe it is, he can say, but you would be wrong.

“All of you who started in Germany have given me an easy excuse to drop you and play someone else. It does not matter the game was in the Champions League or that it was against a top side, which Dortmund certainly are. I now have that excuse.

“The fact I am not going to do it is due to what you have already achieved in league games up to now. I am going to give you the chance to prove that what happened was a one-off and, if you do not, then I will put you out of the side.

“When you are a player and you get that message from your manager, it does make a difference. If Brendan gets the right response, then I fear for Ross County. They could find themselves in a situation where Celtic try to take their pain and their frustration out on them by running up the same sort of heavy win against them!”

Celtic have a chance to make a statement

It’s a big Sunday in the Scottish Premiership. Celtic take on Ross County, Aberdeen host Hearts, and Rangers play at home to St Johnstone.

The top three sides all in action makes for an intriguing day and Celtic can send an early message to both sides that they’re not for moving at the top of the table, despite a disappointing trip to Europe.

Rodgers will know what the best message is to get a tune out of his players. He’s done this many times before.

Whether it’s one similar to Gallacher’s or another theme, we have to trust that the manager will do the job required in the Highlands. Then we can get through the upcoming international break with comfort and positivity.
