The rumours surrounding Kieran Tierney making a possible switch from Arsenal to Celtic have been doing the rounds for a few years now.
Kieran Tierney’s Celtic story is one that resonates with plenty of Hoops supporters after he made the journey from the stands to ball boy to then becoming an integral part of Celtic’s history after making his debut for the club in April 2015 under Ronny Deila.
But it was the arrival of Brendan Rodgers in 2016 that took the Arsenal defender’s career to a different level.
Under Rodgers, Tierney was an integral part of the Celtic Invincible treble-winners as he racked up four league titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups before Celtic sold him to Arsenal for a club-record fee of £25m.
And after three seasons at the Premier League club where Tierney has toiled, it seems he has decided on whether or not to stay at Arsenal or return to Celtic.
Kieran Tierney wants to join up with Brendan Rodgers at Celtic
According to TBR Football, the Arsenal defender has decided that he wants to ‘reunite’ with Brendan Rodgers at Celtic after falling down the pecking order with Mikel Arteta.
The report says “Arsenal are ready to let Tierney leave” with Celtic “keen” to bring him back to the club with a loan deal being preferred once the 27-year-old returns to first-team training in January.
Tierney has managed just 124 appearances for Arsenal in four seasons but did also get some first-team football on loan at Real Sociedad in La Liga.
Despite his lack of football at the Emirates, Tierney still managed to win an FA Cup and two Community Shields.
What Kieran Tierney has previously said about a Celtic return
There is no doubt Tierney would love to return to Celtic and a loan move would make the move financially doable considering his lofty Arsenal wages.

The full-back has never ruled out a Celtic Park return and in an interview last year when asked about a return to the Bhoys, Tierney said, “Who knows? You never know in football; it’s a connection that I’ll always have, somewhere I imagine I’ll always be linked with if I’m to move from any club, so you never know.”
Tierney was recently snapped with Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers at the club’s fundraising event in London last week.
He has also admitted that he still has close contacts at Celtic so it seems that if this opportunity were to present itself, Tierney would jump at the chance to return to his boyhood club.
