Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney has paid tribute to a player that will soon be leaving the Hoops. Regan Hendry, as revealed by the Scottish Sun, is to be given a free transfer by Celtic at the end of season.
The midfielder failed to make the breakthrough to the first-team, despite captaining the Hoops reserve side.
“Good luck” to former team-mate
It was probably for the best for the player to move on from Celtic at this moment in time. Midfield is the hardest area of the side to break into.
The Hoops are loaded with players for the middle of the park, with Scott Brown and Callum McGregor the mainstays this season.
Spent time out on loan
However, the player was obviously popular with his team-mates, with Tierney in particular. Hendry spent time on loan at Raith Rovers earlier this season.
Perhaps a return to the First Division side will be in the offing. It could be a good move for the player. It may lead to regular football for a start.
Players are often released from clubs at the end of the season. Hendry’s situation is no different from many others. However, it is good to see his former team-mate pay tribute to the player. All at Celtic will no doubt echo Tierney’s thoughts.
