Kieran Tierney should be pulled from international duty

Celtic should step-in and pull Kieran Tierney from international duty. The Hoops left-back is only just back after months out with a hip problem. But already he will miss Scotland’s game against Kazakhstan on Thursday due to injury.

He is still in Scotland’s squad for Sunday’s game against San Marino. But the Hoops and Scotland should come to some agreement and get Tierney out of the squad.

Games have caught up with him

It seems that the number of games he has played since returning from injury have caught up with him. With Celtic having some big games coming up, they will need to be careful with the number of games Tierney plays.

There is no doubt he would want to play every game, for club and country if he could. That would not do him any good when dealing with his injury issues though.

Won’t want to miss Glasgow derby

Tierney and all at the club will not want the player to miss Celtic’s Glasgow derby against Rangers next Sunday. The best chance of him being fit for that game is if he is removed from the Scotland squad.

Hopefully with some rest in the summer, Tierney’s injury issues will clear up, and he can fully commit himself to both club and country.

For now though, it should be a matter of one game at a time for the player.
