Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney has reportedly told the club that he wants the Celtic move to Arsenal he’s been linked with.
The Hoops sensation has been linked with the Gunners for several days now. According to the Daily Mail, however, the left-back has told Celtic he wants the opportunity to further his career and speak to other clubs.
The Mail also believes that Celtic have rejected a £15million bid from Arsenal for Tierney’s services. Instead, Celtic apparently want £25m for their prized asset.

In another twist according to the Mail, Celtic teammates believe that Tierney will be off this summer. Reported interest from Napoli shows that the European heavyweights are finally starting to circle the Scotland international.
Tierney only underwent double hernia surgery last month. Hopefully, he’ll be back terrorising Scottish Premiership sides next season. The talented Tierney did manage to play in 40 matches last season. But even so, he struggled to make the impact that he made under Brendan Rodgers for the last two years.
Difficult to see Tierney saying this
Granted, nobody knows how footballers will react when they hear bigger clubs are coming in for them. It could easily sway from their normal personality and original intentions. But, at the same time, Tierney is so pro-Celtic that it’s difficult to see him saying this.

After all, it wasn’t long ago he admitted that he could be a one-club man (The Herald). The first whiff of Premier League interest surely isn’t therefore seeing him go to the club and ask for a move away.
Tierney understands how things work in Glasgow. He knows how iconic he could be with his boyhood club if he stays for 10-in-a-row and achieves it. It would put him in Celtic folklore forever. The question, therefore, is whether he would want to give that up for a quick hop down south or elsewhere.

After all, in two years’ time, if Tierney keeps developing, he would still be a real talent with big interest in him. But he would also only be 24-years of age. He would be a Celtic legend, and would still have plenty of time to further his career at a big European club.
But, as mentioned previously, it’s difficult to sum up how Tierney could be thinking. Is he getting so excited by the prospect of Arsenal that he can’t help himself? Or is this just paper talk and the left-back hasn’t said a thing to his teammates? We’re inclined to go with the latter, because it simply doesn’t seem in Tierney’s character.
