Kieran Tierney’s agent has confirmed his belief that his client will one day leave Celtic.
The Scotland internationalist is the subject of meaty interest from Arsenal and Napoli respectively (Sunday Post). Celtic still don’t have another offer to ponder since Arsenal’s failure to land him for £15million. As it stands, Celtic fans will be happy with the lack of real updates.
Tierney, to his credit, has been quiet throughout the saga. He was reported to have hinted to Celtic that he wants to listen to Arsenal (Daily Mail). But, as it stands, no bid has allowed clubs to speak to Tierney directly.

But despite that, his agent does believe the time will come where Tierney will move on. Speaking on BBC’s Sportsound (06/07/2019), one of his representatives, Allan Preston, believes he’ll move on eventually.
“As the guys say he loves Celtic, he absolutely loves Celtic. Will there be a time for Kieran Tierney to go? I think that there will be.
“If it’s just now it will be up to the clubs involved – Arsenal, Napoli or whoever – to then put the money on the table and make Celtic think about this. If there is a time for Kieran to go it will be up to Celtic, Peter Lawwell and the board.
“They have signed a left-back but they do need one because [Emilio] Izaguirre is away. It is all down to Celtic – if they get a price that they believe is the correct value for Kieran Tierney he could possibly be on his way.”
Tierney’s agent should provide mixed response
It’s difficult to know what to make of Tierney’s agent’s comments here. He’s 100% correct in that anything that gets offered for Tierney is down to Celtic. That goes without saying, and is part of the joys of having a key player tied down to a long-term contract.
Preston’s words about him potentially moving one day is disappointing, however. Celtic will always allow him the opportunity to move on and better himself when the time comes. But it wasn’t long ago that Tierney was talking about becoming a one-club man (The Herald).

But in this day and age, can we truly expect any top young star to spend their career at Celtic? If Tierney does eventually make the step towards a bigger platform, nobody would truly grudge him it.
Surely, however, the idea of bagging 10-in-a-row and becoming immortalised at Celtic is appealing to the supporter in Tierney. The big clubs are always going to be there. 10-in-a-row won’t be.

If he was to depart before we had the chance of reaching it, it would be slightly disappointing from KT. But the bright lights of the Premier League and Serie A are a colossal step-up from Scottish football.
The excitement of moving to a competition like either of those must make Tierney a tad giddy. Fortunately, any deal still remains in the hands of Lawwell.
