Kris Boyd comes off the fence on Celtic and Rangers matter with Edouard verdict

Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd has declared Celtic star Odsonne Edouard as the best player in Scotland despite his Ibrox allegiances, Sky Sports report.

In prior months, Boyd has refused to be drawn on whether or not he’d prefer Edouard or Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos in his team.

Back in December, giving comments to The Daily Record, Boyd would only go as far to say he’d like both players in his starting line-up when questioned.

However, it seems a period of dynamite form from the Frenchman and collapse from the Colombian has been enough for the pundit to come down off the fence and give a solid opinion on it all.

As quoted by Sky Sports, he said of Edouard: “He’s the outstanding player in the league – a class apart.

“There’s talk of him going to a mid-table team in England but he should just cut them out and go straight to the top with any of the big guns. He’s got everything. He glides past defenders as if they are not there.

“He’s got skill, although perhaps one criticism can be his finishing, he tries to place everything in the corners. He’s not from the same finishing school as someone like Leigh Griffiths but in terms of the all-round package, he’s the best player in Scotland.”

Celtic fans, of course, will be well aware of all this already. Edouard has become something of a legendary hero amongst the current crop of supporters.

With as much creative skill as lethal in-front-of-goal prowess, he’s rapidly outgrowing Scottish football.

So good, in fact, that he’s even making Boyd say positive things about Celtic for a change, which is a rather surprising turn of events.

Hopefully, he returns to football in as good form as he left it prior to the league suspension and that we manage to get at least one more good season out of him before he is inevitably moved on.
