Celtic went down an interesting road with their strikers this summer.

Going back to the winter, Celtic sold Kyogo Furuhashi to Rennes, and then went on to sell Adam Idah on transfer deadline day.

That’s why during that period, a lot of strikers were linked with Brendan Rodgers’ side, and one of the more well-known names was Bojan Miovski.

The Celtic Park faithful would have remembered his strong performances for Aberdeen, and probably were happy to take him for a small transfer fee from Girona.

Instead, Celtic didn’t even bother to make a bid for Miovski, who ended up at Ibrox, and following Rangers’ loss to Hearts on Saturday afternoon, the powers that be probably did the right thing by not even knocking on his door.

Kris Boyd was ranting about Rangers losing again, as he provided a small snippet of how things are going for Miovski.

During Celtic’s goalless draw at Rangers, the Macedonian star hardly got a touch of the ball and was dealt with by his former Aberdeen teammate, Liam Scales.

And it seems as though history repeated itself against Hearts because, according to Boyd, their new signing ‘probably had two touches of the ball’, as he told Sky Sports.

“They look devoid of ideas,” said Boyd about Rangers. “You’ve signed Miovski, who, you know, when you go back to his time at Aberdeen, looked like scoring every time that Aberdeen played a game.

“I think he probably had two touches of the ball today. Didn’t create anything – players look all over the place.”

Miovski’s stats against Hearts

On paper, it would have seemed like the logical thing to do was for Celtic to bring in somebody like Miovski.

But one thing is for sure, you can’t mess with the judgment of Brendan Rodgers, and perhaps Celtic might prove to get this one right, because this is how he fared against Hearts:
