Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd has had a cheeky jibe at new Celtic signing Greg Taylor.

The striker turned pundit left a well wishing message on the Scotland international’s Instagram page.

Taylor joined late last night to pen a four-year deal at the Hoops.

However, in true Boyd fashion, he couldn’t resist having one last poke towards the new Bhoy on his departure.

The left-back will be buzzing to have joined the race for 10-in-a-row.

This could be the reason why Boyd left a bittersweet comment at the end of his encouraging message.

Taylor posted a picture of himself in the Hoops board room with his new number three jersey. Boyd raced in to write his comment moments after the picture was posted.

He said: “Well done @gregtaylor12 . A top player, that worked your hardest everyday from the academy to first team a great example for any youngster to follow 👏🏻👏🏻. Deserved your move, But won’t hear from me for 4 year now bye bye.”

It’ll take some doing for the new Bhoy to push Andy Robertson, but he’ll give it a go.

This is just the beginning for Taylor at Celtic

Now that the ink is dry on the contract, this is just step one for Taylor at the club. He’s now got to work himself into the first team which is a mammoth task in itself.

The Hoops also tied up another left-back in this window in Boli Bolingoli who is now impressing after a bumpy start.

Taylor is going to have to compete with Bolingoli and show Neil Lennon that he is the man to start. However, as Boyd alluded to in his post, Taylor is a hard worker who won’t let this chance pass him by.
