Outspoken former Rangers striker turned pundit Kris Boyd thinks that Kieran Tierney could leave Celtic this summer.
Even though the Hoops left-back is currently recovering from an operation, Boyd thinks the player may well exit the Hoops.
The reason being: he will be looking at the success fellow Scottish left-back Andy Robertson has had at Liverpool and will be hoping to follow in his footsteps.
“The right time”
“I think maybe now his head could be turned to move. It might just be the right time. He’s seen Andy Robertson lift the Champions League…that’ll annoy him” he said, whilst appearing on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if this summer Kieran Tierney goes.”
Celtic will not want to sell Tierney under any circumstances. Neil Lennon will surely not want to sell one of his most important players no matter how much money is offered to the club.
Player could be satisfied at Celtic
For the moment Tierney could be happy playing in Scotland with the Hoops, and not want to follow in Robertson’s footsteps.
There could well be teams interested in Tierney in the summer. Leicester City have recently been credited with an interest in the player.
That does not mean that he will be sold this summer though. With the Hoops only two titles away from 10 in a row, it wouldn’t make sense to sell Tierney just now.
Perhaps in the future he will move on from the Hoops. Now just doesn’t seem like the right time though.
