Kyogo Furuhashi was back in Celtic training today ahead of this weekend’s match against Aberdeen after an injury scare this week.

The Japanese striker was substituted off with a shoulder complaint during the Scottish Cup win over St Mirren. Ange Postecoglou later shared he would be sent for a scan on the issue.

The Scottish Sun reported earlier this week he had missed a training session at Lennoxtown in the wake of that fixture.

However, photos published by the club today on the official website show Kyogo smiling and joining in with the group at the training centre, suggesting he won’t be missing for too long – even if he doesn’t make tomorrow’s game against the Dons.

We’re expecting a full update from Postecoglou in a pre-match media conference later this afternoon. Clearly though, the signs are positive.

Kyogo has scored an impressive 22 goals in all competitions this term and has a good shot of becoming the first Bhoys forward to hit 30 goals in a single campaign since Moussa Dembele.

Keeping him fit and firing is absolutely crucial for the team’s push for trophies in the final stages of this season.

The Bhoys play a huge Scottish League Cup final next week against Rangers at Hampden and, even if it means Kyogo has to sit out tomorrow, every fan wants him available for that one.

Postecoglou has Daizen Maeda and Hyeongyu Oh available as central options if Kyogo does indeed need some time out of the team.
