Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi has told reporters his shoulder is feeling good ahead of the cup final and that he’s aiming for a repeat of last year’s Hampden occasion against Hibernian.
Kyogo scored a double in last season’s Scottish League Cup final, powering Celtic to a comeback win and delivering the first trophy of the Ange Postecoglou era.
The forward is almost guaranteed to be starting in today’s team, despite finding himself on the bench against Aberdeen last week, due to that shoulder concern.

Celtic star Kyogo ready to shine against Rangers
He said this weekend [Sunday Post]: “My shoulder is feeling good and I am excited about the game. We have prepared as a team and I am prepared myself too. I am looking forward to it.
“Last season’s final was one of the most memorable moments of my career. I was very happy to score two goals to help the team, and also that, with the fans’ help, we won the trophy. I would love to repeat that success on Sunday.”
Kyogo also went into his reaction to sitting on the bench in that win over the Dons, after Ange Postecoglou amusingly revealed that John Kennedy spotted the striker might start getting annoyed if he didn’t get a chance to play! [The Scotsman]
The Japanese sensation said: “I wasn’t angry! Maybe a little frustrated. I was supporting the players on the pitch, and was ready to come on whenever I was needed.”
Celtic fans continue to adore the 28-year-old for both his play but also his personality off the pitch. He’s so committed to performing well on an individual and team basis – it’s easy to forgive a bit of frustration at not playing!
With 22 goals in all competitions already this season and again fully fit, he has as good a chance of becoming the hero of today’s final as anyone. Just like last year.
