Kyogo Furuhashi enjoyed a profitable afternoon for Celtic last Saturday after scoring to put some daylight between the Bhoys and Aberdeen in their thumping Premier Sports Cup final victory.
After Cameron Carter-Vickers broke the deadlock, Kyogo Furuhashi smashed home after some brilliant industry in the build-up from Daizen Maeda to send his side on their way to a memorable triumph.
Taking his tally to six goals and three assists in 14 appearances this term, the Japan international continues to be Celtic’s touchstone on the big occasion.

Strikes against Rangers, Slovan Bratislava and the Dons lend credence to that theory, and there is hope Furuhashi can exceed his 19 Celtic goals last term by quite some margin.
Of course, he will have to fend off competition from Adam Idah to do so, but the fan favourite is loving life at the club this season and has delivered a motivational message on Instagram that will please supporters.
Kyogo Furuhashi takes to Instagram after Aberdeen rout
Posting a selection of snaps from Celtic’s thumping win over Aberdeen, talismanic figure Furuhashi has delivered an inspirational message as he strives to keep putting up consistent numbers on a weekly basis.
Refusing to be satisfied with his current output, he stated: “Always aim for the top without being satisfied with the status quo.”
Ultimately, setting standards high is a reality of being at Celtic, so there is no surprise Furuhashi is keen to maintain his form in the middle of a hectic fixture run for the Bhoys.
Kyogo Furuhashi approaching landmark Celtic territory
With 147 appearances under his belt at Celtic, Furuhashi now stands on 79 goals, only 21 away from a landmark century of strikes for the Scottish Premiership champions.
Whether he can complete that feat before the campaign is out remains to be seen, but as long as he continues to contribute to the Bhoys’ efforts to claim more silverware, supporters won’t mind too much.
Hopefully, his goal and display against Aberdeen can lead onto the Champions League stage against RB Leipzig tomorrow night, where Celtic will need their star striker to be on top form to stand a chance of claiming a momentus result.
