Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi has returned to visit his former side in Japan, Vissel Kobe.

The 27-year-old signed for the Hoops from the J-League side last year and went on to have an incredible first season in Glasgow.

During his time off before the new season kick starts next month, Kyogo has made a return to his homeland and took the time to visit his former side.

The Japanese internationalist will receive a hero’s welcome in front of the Vissel Kobe support this weekend before their fixture against Urawa on Sunday.

Kyogo has also been welcomed back with open arms, pictured training with his former teammates ahead of his return to pre-season with Celtic over the next few weeks.

The Celtic frontman can be seen alongside ex-Barcelona and legendary Spanish midfielder Andres Iniesta, with whom he enjoyed a close relationship as teammates in Japan.

It is a nice touch from Vissel Kobe to allow Kyogo to participate in a first-team training session. It also goes to show how well respected he remains at his former side.

With the Celtic first-team squad beginning to return to training from the start of next week, Kyogo has now begun his preparation for pre-season early.

At the same time, the Celtic star has been provided the chance to catch up with some of his friends and ex-teammates back home.

I am sure he will be getting asked plenty of questions about his time in Glasgow after lifting a league and cup double during his first season at Parkhead.

He will also have the opportunity to pick up some pointers from a Champions League winner in Iniesta, with Celtic participating in the competition next season.

Kyogo will be looking forward to returning to the Vissel Kobe stadium this weekend and I am sure he will receive a brilliant reception from the fan base.

In other news, Ben Siegrist confidently addresses the one concern about his Celtic signing.
