Kyogo Furuhashi has sent a message of thanks to the Celtic supporters after the Hoops striker picked up the goal of the season and top goalscorer awards last night.

The Japanese internationalist also vowed that he and his teammate continue to work hard and ‘go for more’ in a post on social media this afternoon.

It has been a brilliant debut season in the green and white for Kyogo, scoring 17 goals and setting up a further five.

The 27-year old has been unfortunate that he wasnt in for a shout for more awards due to the long-term injury that has kept him out of action for the last few months.

His winning strike for the goal of the season came in the 2-1 Premier Sports cup final victory, which ultimately delivered Ange Postecoglou his first piece of silverware as Celtic boss.

Kyogo was hailed for his performance at Hampden Park on that cold December afternoon, scoring both of Celtic’s goals whilst playing through an injury knock.

Kyogo and co desperate for more silverware.

It is clear from interviews and social media posts from the players how desperate they are to lift another trophy, and they are so close to doing so.

The title could be delivered next Sunday with just three games remaining, depending on the results. But, if Postecoglou and his side continue to win their final few games, it seems more likely that it will come at Tannadice a week on Wednesday.

No matter where or how the title is won, Ange and his players will continue to work hard and focus on one game at a time each week.

I am sure they will look forward to those celebrations when it is done.
