Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell has revealed that the club are set to begin the process of appointing a new head of recruitment. However, he has vowed that the club will take its time to ensure that they appoint the right man.
“We are working on that” he said, as reported by the Daily Record. “We want to keep calm, and don’t rush and make the wrong appointment too quickly.”
“Go out to the market”

“We will sit down, look at the structure of the football side of the club, which will include head of recruitment, and then go out to the market and possibly do that.”
It looks as if for the time being the club will press ahead for transfer targets without a current head of recruitment in place.

Possible name on shortlist
If a head of recruitment is appointed, you would imagine that John Park will be a name on the short-list.

Reports recently claimed that he was close to agreeing a deal to join Sunderland, however.
Now that Neil Lennon has been confirmed as Celtic’s new manager, the club can get on with plans for next season.
It remains to be seen what will happen with the head of recruitment role. It is a vitally important position though. Therefore, Lawwell in a way is correct not to rush his appointment. But it would be a good idea to get the new man in sooner rather than later.
