League One side mock Celtic on Twitter but it backfires

Oh, to be Celtic man Ryan Christie tonight.

Yes, fine, it was against League One opposition. But when that opposition mocks you personally on Twitter for taking shots from range, then you score? That’s got to be remarkably sweet.

Indeed, the Bairns’ Twitter admin put themselves in fate’s way, with an incredibly cheeky tweet at the Scotland hero. When Christie made it 2-0, well, you can imagine what came next.

It’s not Christie’s best goal, nor his most important. As a precedent for patter, though, he’ll do well to ever repeat the trick. On a night when a frustrating first-half turned into a comfortable 3-0 win, Christie’s pot-shots were causing no end of frustration for Celtic supporters.

So when he did get that goal, what a relief he must have felt. Driven nice and low past the despairing Bairns keeper, it put the game beyond Falkirk’s reach.

Celtic Twitter is undefeated on nights like this. Even when we’re losing, our patter is world-class. Fortunately, we made progress in the Scottish Cup and got to tell some upstarts to sit doon.
