Legia Warsaw are going big on Artur Boruc’s farewell match at Celtic, releasing a special set of merchandise ahead of the match on 20th July.

Boruc will be the man honoured in the pre-season friendly, ending a long association with his beloved club against the perfect opposition to send him off into retirement – Celtic.

The Holy Goalie, as he was dubbed by supporters, became a beloved cult hero during his time at the Bhoys winning trophies domestically and helping the club progress in Europe.

The contest is being dubbed “The King’s Party” and the Polish club have released a special merchandise range for the occasion – which includes a t-shirt, hoodie, mug and a signed card.

They’re selling it all in a package that includes every item for around £45 in total, going by today’s exchange rate from Polish Zloty to pound sterling.

However, each Boruc item is also for sale individually.

There’s no mention of Celtic on the merchandise, which is probably a reflection of the difficult relationship between the two clubs over the last ten years.

Technically the Boruc merch can be ordered to the UK, but there seems to be a pretty steep international postage price on any orders, which could put some people off.

Celtic have yet to confirm ticket details for the match in Poland, which some people will definitely be keen on travelling to.

From the look of Legia’s website, they have set aside an away section for the fixture. So it’s a decent bet that tickets will be released through Celtic or sold directly by the Polish club at some point.

They’ve already stated their intention for the stadium to be full for Boruc’s big goodbye, so hopefully, it will be an impressive atmosphere for him.

In other news, Ko Itakura to Celtic officially put to bed after early summer Sky Sports report.
