Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths made a bit of history with his goal in the recent 4-0 win over Motherwell.
As mentioned on the club’s Twitter account, the goal was Griffiths’ 111th for Celtic, which takes him one ahead of Hoops legend John Hartson in the record books of the club’s top scorers.

Griffiths has now had his say on the matter, on his own Twitter account.
“Hopefully a lot more to come”
“Honoured to have passed such a club icon in big John Hartson. Hopefully a lot more to come” he said.

At one stage this season it looked as if Griffiths’ goal tally would not increase, as he spent a large part of the season out of the first-team picture.
However, he has played excellently for the Hoops since the winter break, scoring four goals, and has now overtaken a club legend like Hartson in the record books.
It will be interesting to see just how many goals Griffiths will get in the remainder of his Hoops career.
Next target should be 120 goals
His next target should be 120 goals, and hopefully he can achieve that this season. That would mean that he scores another nine goals this season, and that could help the Hoops achieve potentially another domestic treble.
It is a well done to Griffiths, who deserves plenty of credit for his performances for the team over the last few weeks.
Hopefully he can keep that run going as Celtic head into another busy month of the season, with league, Scottish Cup and Europa League fixtures on the horizon.
