Injured Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths needs to keep himself fit in order to keep teammate Odsonne Edouard on form.
Griffiths hasn’t featured for The Bhoys since the beginning of October, leaving Edouard without a competitor for the one striker position.
Griffiths’ absence not stopping Edouard so far
‘French Eddie’ has been impressive in recent games, scoring six since Griffiths’ absence.
Griffiths’ injury problems have been more frequent recently and it’s unknown when he will return.

With only having one recognised striker in Edouard, it’s hoped that he doesn’t slack. Competition is healthy as players try to compete to get a starting spot.
MORE CELTIC STORIES
All the great Celtic strikers over the years have had a teammate sniffing down their neck.
Unfortunately, due to financial and recruitment disadvantages Rodgers only has two strikers to choose from.
The competition has weakened
Moussa Dembele was sold in the summer to Lyon, as his battle for the top spot at Celtic came to an end.
Celtic played 4-2-3-1 last season so there was still only one spot up for grabs.
Before Edouard, it was just Dembele and Griffiths going toe to toe and Dembele reaped the awards.

The Frenchman got his big money move to Ligue 1 off the back of his Celtic form. Now Griffiths must do the same for Edouard so that the winners here are the club.
We all know Griffiths won’t be in the Edouard/Dembele category in terms of ability.
Griffiths can help on and off the pitch
Lets not forget that Griffiths has 100 goals for the club and has given a lot with important goals.
Griffiths still has a job to do at Celtic as a mentor for younger strikers and can still play.

Edouard will be the number one striker during his career at Parkhead but he can’t have it too easy.
The point must be made that Griffiths has 100 goals and can take Edouard’s place at any time.
At the moment though Edouard isn’t being pushed at all by any player.
The solution if Griffiths won’t play ball
The solution to that is to get Griffiths fit and keeping it that way.
If not, then Rodgers must go to the transfer market and get a striker who will compete.
Griffiths must be like the professional that he is and, as a contracted player, act like a Celtic player.
Even if game time is restricted he must be available when called for. That also means in training too and trying his hardest for his teammates and to impress the manager.
Having two ready strikers helping each other will only mean the team will be better as a whole.
