Celtic boss Neil Lennon has revealed that he has no worries about starting Leigh Griffiths in Celtic’s upcoming Champions League fixtures.
The Hoops attacker has not featured for Celtic since December because of off-field issues. However, he is now back in first-team training and Lennon has been impressed with what he has seen so far.
“No problem putting him in”

“Leigh’s training very well. He’s had a really good week and has been training constantly for the last few months, so I have no problem in putting him in” he told the Celtic Twitter account.
That will be a great boost for Griffiths ahead of the new season. He will be delighted to hear that Lennon still has faith in him.
Could start Champions League qualifier
If Griffiths is fit for the upcoming Champions League clash against FK Sarajevo, Celtic should consider starting him in the tie.

He has been excellent for the Hoops in the previous Champions League qualifiers. It will also be interesting to see if Lennon decides to pair up Griffiths with Odsonne Edouard in the qualifiers. They could be a more than useful strike pairing.
It is perhaps best not to expect too much from Griffiths early in the season. He is just returning from a long absence. However, Lennon’s comments are certainly promising for both the player and the club ahead of next season.
