Former Celtic winger Lewis Morgan believes he would’ve been a success at Parkhead under Ange Postecoglou.
Morgan was signed for £300k by Brendan Rodgers back in January 2018 [BBC]. However, he would only go on to make 31 appearances before leaving for the MLS and Inter Miami 2 years later.
Since then, the left-winger has gone on to be one of the most talented players in the MLS. Celtic, meanwhile, have been totally rejuvenated under Ange after a sensational double-winning season in his debut campaign.

And Morgan believes that he could’ve been a success under the current Hoops boss, stating that the current Parkhead attackers will “love” playing Ange’s style.
As quoted by Glasgow Live, Morgan said: “It’s tough to say. Managers come and go and the manager has come in this year and done brilliantly domestically. The team is playing a really good, attractive style of football. I also have self-belief and think I could have been a success when I was at Celtic anyway.
“Quite a lot of my time was maybe filling in at different positions. You have got to do that at a club like that with the competition for places and quality of squad we had. I am sure all the forward players at Celtic now love playing under [Ange] Postecoglou with his style of play. I am sure if I was there and had a sustained run then I could have made a success of it.
“But like I say, obviously they have come back now after a sort of dip last year and performed brilliantly and won the league.
Several former Celtic players would likely feel the same as Lewis Morgan
This is probably something that will divide many Celtic fans, but I think seeing Ange try to develop the likes of a Lewis Morgan would’ve been absolutely fascinating to watch.
But he isn’t the only former Celtic star who would’ve loved a crack at life under Postecoglou. Patryk Klimala was another ann-energy centre-forward who could’ve perhaps made an impact in the current system.
Important not to forget the likes of Scott Sinclair too. You feel he could’ve easily prolonged his time at Celtic Park under a manager who knew how to get more out of him. Ange has shown he can make international players from individuals who are struggling to emerge.

Morgan, of course, has developed massively since moving to the MLS. We can’t plausibly state that he’s the same player now as he was when he first signed for the Hoops back in 2018. He looks stronger, quicker, and more efficient in front of goal.
It initially took Lewis time to adapt to MLS football too. The evolution in his game is thoroughly impressive – so much so that he’s able to play in several roles in the final third too. Whether it be the left or right flank, or even as a centre-forward – Morgan’s game has come on plenty.
Would he have flourished under Ange? All hypothetical of course, but it’s easy to see why he may have done.
