Lewis Morgan hasn’t yet given up hope on his dream of making it at Celtic. At the moment it would seem an unlikely dream, as he spent part of last season on loan at Sunderland.

However, he is hoping to follow in the footsteps of three Celtic players, Kristoffer Ajer, Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor, whose Celtic careers flourished after a spell on loan.

“They went out and improved by playing week in and week out and getting games in their legs. Then they went back and really pushed for the team” he said, as reported by the Evening Times.

“That’s what I am aiming to do now.”

The aforementioned trio have become key men for the Hoops in recent times. It is easy to see why Morgan wants to follow in their footsteps.

Future could hinge on relationship with manager

Morgan’s future at Celtic though, could hinge on his relationship with Neil Lennon. Morgan has not yet worked with the recently appointed Hoops boss.

Lennon may feel that Morgan could benefit from another loan spell away from the club. After all, that worked for Ryan Christie.

However, Morgan may impress Lennon so much in pre-season training and friendlies that he keeps him at the club.

Morgan certainly seems to have the correct attitude about making it at Celtic. Now he just needs the chance to prove it on the pitch.
