Liel Abada has reacted on Instagram to his dream Celtic debut after being handed a surprise start by Ange Postecoglou.

An IT error from UEFA made it look as though Abada still wasn’t up to speed after he wasn’t initially in Celtic’s squad for the Midtjylland tie. However, this has since been amended [Clyde SSB].

Abada did indeed start, and bagged a debut goal along with two superb crosses that created a couple of big opportunities for Ryan Christie in the 1-1 stalemate with the Danes.

And Celtic have posted Abada’s Instagram update after last night’s game on their own Twitter page. With the player’s profile set to private, the Hoops put the update out this afternoon:

In his Instagram post, Abada says: “Dream come true. Debut @Celticfc. We’re looking forward to the next game @championsleague #thanksforeverything”

Fans will have noticed that James Forrest was also on the bench last night in a big piece of positive news for the football club. We need as many right-wingers fit and ready to go as we can.

However, regardless of what Forrest has done throughout his Celtic career, he shouldn’t be in contention to start next week. That spot simply has to be reserved for Abada.

He’s the man in form just now and will be feeling better about himself than anyone else in the squad. Not playing him would create a massive target for the manager’s back.

Forrest is a great option to have. Hopefully, he gets some minutes against West Ham on Saturday and can come on from the bench in Denmark if necessary.

But for now, it’s Abada’s time. Celtic fans want to see more from him and he was arguably our biggest threat in the first half. Had it not been for Nir Bitton’s red card, he could’ve made an even bigger splash.

Instead, we’ll have to wait to next week to see the tricky winger attempt to put this tie to bed.
