Lille are the perfect team for Jozo Simunovic

LOSC Lille shocked everyone when they finished second place in Ligue 1 last season.

Each first team player seemed to peak at the right time to help the club to the runners-up position.

Toppling PSG for the title was just a step too far for Christophe Galtier’s men.

Nevertheless, a Champions League place is satisfying the supporters after a dismal last few seasons.

Lille are continuing to build on this success by bringing in more established players with a lot to prove.

Just recently, they confirmed the signing of highly-rated midfielder, Rennes captain Benjamin André.

Simunovic is another player that will have his eyes on playing Champions League football.

Depending on how Celtic do in the next few weeks, Simunovic will have a big decision to make.

If he does leave, Simunovic opens up a Croatian international sized gap in the Hoops rear guard.

Celtic should be eyeing potential replacements

If the 24-year-old does depart, then the club is back to square one.

Just a couple of weeks ago fans were wondering if a centre-back would be signed to join Simunovic and Krisoffer Ajer.

Following a £7 million deal, Christopher Jullien signed the dotted line.

With Simunovic potentially away, the club will need to use the cash to find his replacement.

However, it will be hard job to spin ‘squad player’ to any potential replacement.

Jullien and Ajer will most probably be the starting pair with whoever comes in being behind them.

Neil Lennon and co have a difficult job on their hands to get this one right.
