Scottish Premiership side Livingston have confirmed they will be voting for the SPFL proposals that would see the league season come to end and final positions be determined on a points per game basis, should football be unable to resume this summer.
A statement on their official website read: “Firstly, we would like to take the opportunity to thank both the SPFL and SFA for their hard work and effort in providing clubs with extensive legal opinions during this unprecedented time. The situation in which we all find ourselves in is unlike anything we have ever seen before, so we appreciate the difficulty in reaching an outcome that will satisfy all relevant parties.
“We are grateful for the continued communication over recent weeks via both regular emails and video calls, in which the information provided has remained clear and concise at all times and has allowed us to remain fully up to speed on all developments across a number of areas.
“We would like to put on record that we fully support the resolution put forward by the SPFL on Wednesday 8th April.”
It means that should eight other teams vote for the proposals by 5pm tomorrow, Celtic will have a route to be declared champions without any more action taking place on the pitch.
Reports have indicated that the league board have confidence the proposals will pass (The Guardian) and this public support would lend credence to that.
However, with Rangers and Hearts lobbying for another proposal based on prize money, solely, it’s all still quite unpredictable.
It’s fair to say Livingston’s statement has gone down like a lead balloon with a section of the Ibrox support, some of whom are still clinging onto the idea the season will be declared null and void, with no title awarded to Celtic.
These supporters couldn’t hide their anger on Twitter earlier today, which is rather amusing from our perspective…
Give them their tainted title…. you will never see a rangers fan in your stadium again. Simple

No title should be awarded. No relegation.
Prize money for league positions as they stand.
European position as we stand .

There’s surprise you lot voting just to hand the title to club who haven’t won it yet…. Says everything you need to know about a club with less than 1500 fans zero ambition.. Plus a great love of all things celtic
