Livingston have this morning issued an important 7-step guide for all fans to follow as the Celtic support gets ready to make their first away-day appearance since early 2020.

The Celtic faithful have been given as many as 7,400 tickets for this afternoon’s clash with the Lions. The West Lothian outfit have been allowed to host a full capacity crowd this afternoon, but the vast majority will actually be Hoops supporters.

Celtic fans haven’t visited an away venue since March 2020 when they took the trip to Livingston for a league game. Since then, away Hoops supporters have been locked out as continue to get back to normality amid the global pandemic. And as rules across football and within stadia continue to change, Livingston have provided guidelines that they want all fans to follow. Sending an early-morning tweet out today, here’s what they had to say:

Celtic fans have gotten used to new rules to protect against Covid. Parkhead has been opened to fans at full capacity since August’s win against Jablonec in the Europa League.

Celtic away support another sign of the return to normality

Having the away support back can’t be underestimated from a Celtic perspective. So often they can help lift the side on their travels and push them over the line. We’ll be hoping that’s the case today.

With regards to atmosphere, Livingston always seems to be just like a home match. The Celtic fans will fill the vast majority of the stadium and give the team their vocal support.

In the past, it hasn’t been enough to lead us to success in West Lothian. However, it’ll do a lot more for the atmosphere than if there were only home fans allowed into the ground.

At the same time, it’s vital for fans to stick to the health and safety guidelines. We’re all looking to come out the other side of this pandemic together. As we continue to get more and more back to where we were, it’s vital we continue to stick to the guidelines football clubs give out.

The Celtic supporters have long since waited for this day to return of course. There isn’t an away support in the country that can hold a candle to a travelling Hoops faithful. Those who have just joined the club in recent transfer windows are about to experience something brilliant this afternoon.

Here’s hoping they respond with a convincing performance and result.
