Celtic legend Lubo Moravcik is impressed with the Hoops attacking duo of Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths, the Evening Times reports.

The strike duo have been in excellent form since the winter break, helping the Hoops go 13 points clear at the top of the Premiership.

Moravcik feels that the duo are a ‘major strong point’ of the side, and can make the difference if selected in Sunday’s Glasgow derby at Ibrox.

“Very good and clever player”

“Leigh Griffiths is back, which is very important for Celtic because he is a very good and clever player who is able to score goals” Moravcik said, as reported by the Evening Times.

“Odsonne Edouard is very strong up front too. With two players like that, it is a major strong point of the team, and if Celtic are well-organised, then I think they must win this game by a couple of goals” he concluded.

The duo have been in excellent form for the Hoops recently. In the last league game – the 5-0 win over St Mirren – Griffiths and Edouard scored four goals between themselves, an excellent record.

Makes sense to start duo

Of course, there is a difference between starting the duo at home to St Mirren and in a trip to Ibrox. However, Celtic have been playing so well with the duo in the team, that it makes sense to start Griffiths and Edouard at Ibrox.

As Moravcik says, they could make the difference for the team, and help Celtic clinch the three points. Only time will tell of course, but it would not be a surprise to see the duo get the nod to start the game.

It would show that Neil Lennon has plenty of faith in the partnership that they will be trusted to help the Hoops clinch three points at the home of the Hoops’ biggest rivals.
