Luis Palma reacts as Alexandro Bernabei’s post-Celtic exit success at Internacional continues

Alexandro Bernabei is a player who just didn’t fit at Celtic.

The defender was Celtic’s first Argentinian signing in the club’s history and Bernabei was expected to challenge Greg Taylor for that coveted left-back spot.

However, it didn’t quite work out for Bernabei after discipline issues at Celtic put him out in the cold with Brendan Rodgers before he was shipped out to Internacional on loan.

Now permanently at Internacional, Bernabei has picked up his first piece of silverware at the Brazilian club as he took to social media to celebrate.

Ex-Celtic defender Alexandro Bernabei wins the Campeonato Gaucho with Internacional

Finishing 5th in the Brazilian Serie A, Bernabei has had an excellent season at Internacional and after winning the Campeonato Gaucho last night against Monsoon 2-0, the former Celtic defender was overjoyed.

Bernabei posted on Instagram, “GAUCHO CHAMPIONS 2025! Very happy to win this championship with this great group. Thank you to everyone who supported us.

“Congratulations to the entire club and fans. We deserve it! COME ON, INTER!”

Bernabei’s former Celtic teammate, Luis Palma replied, “Cracke!!!” as he sent the Inter player a message.

The Campeonato Gaúcho is a regional Brazilian tournament that has been going on since 1919. Last night’s win was Internacional’s 45th and it looks like Bernabei really enjoyed that one.

Bernabei’s Celtic career was much-maligned as the fullback struggled to make an impact in Glasgow.

However, his time at Internacional is stark in contrast to that at Celtic as Bernabei shows his class with the Brazilian side.

Bernabei is certainly enjoying his time at the Brazilian club and now that he has his first piece of silverware the ex-Celtic defender has the chance to kick on and show what he can do next season in Brazil’s top flight.
