It seems that Celtic veteran Mikael Lustig may have played his last game for the club.
The right-back has not confirmed his departure, but in an interview with Aftonbladet, he seemed to indicate that his time at the club is all but over.
He has also put up what seems to be a goodbye video on his Instagram account.
Interestingly, he does not seem happy with certain aspects of what looks to be his departure from the club.
When asked if he was disappointed in the ‘club management’, he replied “no comment.”

“The last weeks have been tough. Not on the pitch but outside it. I’m extremely proud of how I’ve handled it. Those closest to me, the players and coaches know what’s happened” was his verdict on the overall situation.
It will be interesting to see if what Lustig is talking about is ever revealed. Reading between the lines he seems unhappy about something. The ‘no comment’ is certainly intriguing.
Manager wanted to keep player

What makes the matter even more intriguing, is that Neil Lennon has commented that he wants to keep the player at Celtic for at least another season, and give him a new contract.
The chances of that happening would seem to be slim. However, it has to be said that Lustig’s performances haven’t been that great over the last few seasons.
However, overall he has been an excellent signing for the club. If this is his goodbye, he will go with plenty of best wishes from the Hoops support.
